SAVANNAH, Ga. — The 2026 Miss Savannah Juneteenth Court and Chosen for the Arts are launching a coat drive to help Savannah-area students prepare for colder weather.

The “A Coat for the Season” initiative is collecting new, school-appropriate coats for students from elementary through high school. Organizers said teen-size coats are a particular need.

The drive is intended to help students have warm clothing as temperatures begin to fall later in the year.

Parents and guardians who need a free coat can begin submitting requests Sept. 16 through the Miss Savannah Juneteenth website.

Community members who want to support the effort can watch for collection and donation details from the organizers.
