A library card, a favorite walking route and a nearby playground can help a new place begin to feel like home. These public places give newcomers a starting point in the communities around Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

Make the most of a visit
Use a branch’s current schedule when planning around a library program or holiday. Bring identification and address documentation if you want to apply for a card, and ask about eligibility while you are between addresses. Borrowing policies, room bookings and services such as printing can differ between library systems.
For parks, bring water and choose a route suited to your household. A park with a playground is not automatically an accessible playground; contact the operator about the specific paths, surfaces, restrooms or equipment you need. Facility listings do not guarantee every feature is available during repairs, storms or scheduled events.
- Use NNG’s Events page for upcoming activities instead of relying on an old event flyer.
- Arrange permission before a large gathering, reserved field use or pavilion event.
- Know where you will shelter if thunder begins. A picnic roof or dugout is not a safe lightning shelter.
