HINESVILLE, Ga. — Orient Express received a score of 94 and an “A” grade during a routine food safety inspection conducted Aug. 26.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, the restaurant is located at 445 E.G. Miles Parkway, Suite 103, in Hinesville. The inspection was completed by James Barrett under food service permit FSP-089-000362.
Inspectors cited three violations. Fried chicken pieces stored in a reach-in cooler were marked with a preparation date of Aug. 18, exceeding the maximum seven-day holding period for refrigerated ready-to-eat food. The chicken was discarded during the inspection.
An inspector also found a scoop stored in flour with its handle touching the food. The person in charge moved the handle during the inspection.
Multiple pans were observed stacked while still wet above the three-compartment sink. That was listed as a repeat violation. The pans were separated so they could air-dry properly.
All three violations were corrected during the inspection.
