Two railroad crossings in Liberty County are scheduled for separate closures in early November. Drivers will not be able to cross the tracks at either location while work is underway; each closure is expected to last about two days.
In Allenhurst, the Dunlevie Road crossing off Highway 84 near Shelly Road, DOT No. 637346K, is set to close around 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2. It is scheduled to reopen by approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The Walthourville closure will affect the SR 119/Talmadge Road crossing at Highway 84 near Busbee Road, DOT No. 637348D. That crossing is scheduled to close around 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, and reopen by approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
Both closures will block all traffic across the railroad tracks until the work is complete. Signs will identify the closed areas and detour routes where available. Drivers should plan to use alternate routes, allow extra travel time and follow posted signs. The closure and reopening times are approximate.
