Glynn County commissioners unanimously authorized the county chairman to sign a $24,094 application to the U.S. Department of Justice for an explosives-detection K-9 for the Glynn County Police Department. The requested funds would support the K-9’s purchase, training and safety equipment.

The authorization came at the commissioners’ Oct. 1, 2026, meeting, which began at 6 p.m. It covered signing an SF-424 form for the application; the meeting record documents approval to apply, not an award of federal funds.

Commissioner Walter Rafolski moved to approve the consent agenda’s general business, and Commissioner Allen Booker seconded the motion. The consent agenda passed unanimously.
