An indictment this week moves the case against Savannah resident Jonathan Christopher Dellorco, 36, forward in Superior Court on charges that include rape and aggravated sexual battery.

Chatham County Police arrested Dellorco in July 2025. He bonded out about a month after he was booked, and the case awaited an indictment until this week. His jail booking report also carries a flag for contempt of DUI Court.

The indictment lists rape, aggravated sexual battery and two counts of aggravated assault. The remaining charges are false imprisonment, criminal damage to property in the second degree and battery.

According to the indictment, Dellorco scratched and bruised a woman’s neck, arms, legs and back. It also accuses him of punching, slapping and pushing her, and of strangling her on two separate occasions.

The document alleges Dellorco prevented the woman from leaving. It says he smashed her phone on the ground and broke it in half with his hands, causing more than $500 in damage.

The rape and aggravated sexual battery charges involve allegations of sexual relations against the woman’s will. The indictment sets out accusations, not findings of guilt.
