Keith Devall Bliey, an inmate at the Bulloch County Jail, was pronounced dead at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after jail staff responded to an early-morning alert on Oct. 23. Bulloch County Coroner Chuck Francis identified Bliey.

According to a release from Chief Deputy Bill Black, a cellmate used the intercom to notify the control room that an inmate in general population housing was unresponsive.

Officers entered the dormitory and began assisting, while securing the cell block so emergency medical personnel could get in when they arrived.

Bliey was taken to the hospital’s emergency room, where he was later pronounced dead. His body is to be transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. The available report does not state a cause of death.
