Liberty County voters planning to cast an early ballot in the November general election should be aware of a conflicting date published on the county’s election calendar.
The county has scheduled advance voting from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at two locations:
Liberty County Historic Courthouse, 100 Main Street, Suite 1100, Hinesville.
Liberty County Complex, 9397 East Oglethorpe Highway, Midway.
The first week is listed as Tuesday, October 13, through Saturday, October 17.
The second week is scheduled from Monday, October 19, through Saturday, October 24.
The conflict involves the final week.
Liberty County’s calendar lists the third voting period as October 26 through October 31. However, the description on that same page says voting will run Monday through Friday. October 31 falls on a Saturday.
The Georgia Secretary of State’s official 2026 election calendar identifies Friday, October 30, as the final day of advance voting statewide.
No public clarification explaining whether Liberty County intends to offer additional voting Saturday, October 31, was located Monday morning. Voters should not assume that date will be available unless the county confirms it.
Other important election dates include:
October 5: Deadline to register or update an address for the general election.
October 23: Deadline to request an absentee ballot.
November 3: Election Day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Absentee-ballot applications are already available through the Secretary of State’s website.
Voters can check their registration, assigned Election Day precinct and sample ballot through Georgia’s My Voter Page. Questions about Liberty County’s schedule may be directed to the elections office at 912-876-3310.
