The Junior League of Savannah’s annual Trunk or Treat brought Halloween activities to Oglethorpe Mall while supporting scholarships through its fundraising proceeds.

Families gathered in the mall parking lot on Oct. 31. Children in costumes collected candy, played games and met first responders. Emergency vehicles and a bounce house were also part of the event.

League President Dianne Talcott said children had a chance to meet community workers, including people who ride garbage trucks. She said those encounters are important for children and families.

Organizers said they were pleased with turnout and planned to continue holding fundraisers throughout the year.
