Keisha Lance Bottoms outlined campaign priorities at Kim’s Cafe in Savannah on Friday, including addressing living costs and expanding Medicaid in Georgia. The Democratic nominee for governor also named continued SNAP benefits and education funding among her aims.

Bottoms said she wants to carry on Gov. Kemp’s effort to keep Georgia No. 1 in business. She also described issues she said young voters have raised with her: access to mental health care, living expenses and whether artificial intelligence could affect future job opportunities. “I’ve heard them loud and clear,” she said.

The Savannah visit was part of Bottoms’ five-day tour of Georgia, which she said was intended to encourage residents to make their voices heard by Election Day. She was scheduled to visit Columbus, Bainbridge and Albany on Saturday. At the Savannah stop, Bottoms and other Black leaders also said the state needs a change in leadership.

Republican gubernatorial opponent Rick Jackson had a Savannah airport stop scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m.
