Former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says President Donald Trump’s comments about Georgia lawmakers at a Perry rally could hurt Republican candidates, renewing a public disagreement between the former allies.

Greene objected Sunday to Trump’s remarks about which lawmakers he would help. On X, she wrote, “He has no idea how bad he is doing in GA,” and accused him of threatening Georgia by suggesting he might refuse help to people he disliked. She also warned, “Trump has become a curse to Republican candidates and it will be worse in ’28.”

At the rally, Trump said some Republican lawmakers could call on him for help, including with issues involving Georgia farmers. He contrasted those lawmakers with people he did not want to hear from and referred to Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff as “Pee-wee Herman.”

Greene represented Georgia’s 14th Congressional District until resigning from Congress in January 2026. She was a prominent Trump supporter, though she has also criticized him publicly on some issues. Georgia Republicans are preparing for the 2026 midterm elections as Republicans look ahead to 2028.
