Brooklet City Hall is now a second early-voting location for Bulloch County, after opening Monday during the final week of advance voting. About 100 people had voted there before lunchtime.
Bulloch County Elections Supervisor Shontay Jones said the site was intended to reduce travel for voters in the lower part of the county, including Ellabell, Stilson and Brooklet.
Before Monday, 8,053 ballots had been counted in Bulloch County’s early voting, compared with 7,226 voters during the same early-voting days in the 2022 midterms.
The county’s other satellite early-voting site, Russell Union on Georgia Southern University’s campus, recorded 394 ballots from Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 22.
Brooklet City Hall and the Bulloch County Annex are scheduled to offer early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 30.
