Bulloch County Schools is accepting nominations through Nov. 6 for the Portal Hall of Fame, which recognizes alumni and other people connected to Portal Middle High School and Willow Hill School.
The Alumni category is for people who graduated from either school at least 15 years ago. Nominees should have accomplishments in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities or civic work and serve as role models for young people. The Honorary category includes current or former teachers, coaches and others who served at either school and influenced students’ educational or athletic development.
The review committee will weigh candidates’ citizenship in high school, academic or athletic awards, school or state records and recognition, achievements after high school or college, community contributions, leadership and character.
Forms for both categories are available in the Panther News section of Portal Middle High School’s website homepage. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16, at the school; the announcement does not specify a year. Jennifer Yates is listed as the contact for more information.
