SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah State University has renamed its ballroom in honor of former Savannah Mayor and state Rep. Edna Jackson.
Georgia lawmakers and local leaders gathered Saturday at the university for the recognition ceremony. The naming honors Jackson’s longtime public service to Savannah and Georgia.
The ballroom will now carry Jackson’s name as a lasting part of the Savannah State campus.
