If you have little ones in daycare or school, you need to read this! 🛑 Four MORE measles cases have just been confirmed in metro Atlanta, bringing the total to 11 cases in Georgia so far this year.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, this latest outbreak is directly linked to a local daycare center. The infected children were reportedly either unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated. 🏥

Here is what makes this situation so concerning: Measles is incredibly contagious. It spreads easily through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and the virus can actually linger in the air or on surfaces for up to TWO HOURS after they’ve left the room! 🦠💨

Symptoms to watch out for (usually appearing 7 to 14 days after exposure):
🤒 High fever
🤧 Persistent cough and runny nose
🥺 Watery eyes
🔴 A sudden rash of tiny red spots
This outbreak highlights a growing trend recently reported by the CDC.

Georgia is now one of 24 states where kindergarten vaccine exemptions have surpassed 5%. With fewer kids getting the standard two-dose MMR vaccine, public health officials warn that outbreaks like this could become more common. 📉

Are you concerned about the rising number of measles cases in our daycares, and what steps are you taking to keep your family protected this season?
