A recent poll in Georgia suggests many motorists believe exceeding the posted speed limit by a few miles per hour is perfectly acceptable.
A majority of respondents said driving 10 mph over the limit was reasonable.
Roughly three out of four were comfortable traveling at least 5 mph over, while only about 5% said drivers should never exceed the posted limit.
The results show that although speeding is common on Georgia roads, opinions differ on how much is too much.
Where do you stand: 5 mph over, 10 mph over or never above the posted limit?
Is “10 over” criminal in Georgia? Technically, yes.
