Fans attending ticketed high school athletic events in Bulloch County will need to follow a clear-bag policy beginning Oct. 26, 2026. Bulloch County Schools says the rule applies at athletic events in district high school gyms and stadiums.

Every bag brought inside must meet the district’s clear-bag requirements and may be searched at entry. Anyone who will not comply with the bag rules or allow an inspection will be denied admission.

The district developed the policy with local law enforcement, with input from school administrators and athletic directors. School officials say the entry procedures will operate alongside school resource officers and other existing security measures, and will benefit student athletes, employees and guests.

Exceptions to the bag rule

Venue staff will inspect items and make exceptions for bags containing medically necessary supplies, including insulin and diabetic supplies, oxygen, prescription medication or other reasonable medical needs. The person who needs the supplies must remain with the bag.

Working athletic game officials, law enforcement officers and emergency medical services personnel may carry bags. Working coaches and athletic staff, as well as contracted athletic training staff, may bring bags containing equipment essential to their jobs. Credentialed media are exempt for necessary equipment. Approved exceptions do not extend to friends or family accompanying a credentialed individual.

Bulloch County Schools has posted the clear-bag requirements and frequently asked questions at bullochschools.org/clearbag.
