Georgia DPH food service inspection report for Tortuga Jack's showing a score of 80.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. — Tortuga Jack’s at 201 N. Beachview Drive received a score of 80, or a B, during a routine food-service inspection conducted Sept. 10, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Inspector Justin Currin cited syrup buildup on outdoor-bar soda nozzles; fish and shrimp held at 51 degrees; stuffed peppers thawing in a warmer; black mold-like buildup on dining-room ceiling tiles; and live and dead crawling pests in the kitchen.

The nozzles were cleaned and sanitized, the seafood was discarded, and the peppers were moved for proper preparation during the inspection. The ceiling-tile and pest violations remained uncorrected. None of the violations were listed as repeats.

Permit number: FSP-063-000445.
