The Ogeechee Technical College Foundation’s 2026 J. David Russell Memorial Golf Tournament brought 31 teams to Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro to support OTC scholarships and adult education.
Larry Mays, OTC’s vice president for college advancement, said the proceeds are expected to help eligible students with GED exam costs, provide Integrated Education and Training opportunities, and strengthen scholarship support.
Gross-division honors went to Bulloch First, whose players were Jake Maples, Wilson Andress, Logan Martin and Cade Windham; Vallant Bank, with Cliff Wildes, Greg Olliff, Michael Jackson and Rett Polk; and Synovus+Pinnacle, represented by Chad Wiggins, Ryan Quick, Ric Roderick and Mays.
The net-division winners were Franklin Toyota, with Kyle Sherfesee, Kyle Kamppi, Zach Williams and Mike Sumner; Savannah Wealth Group, with Morell McCaskill, Dennis Allen, Andy Knox and Baron Fowler; and Bulloch Solutions, with Greg Vickers, Matt Meyer, Jeffrey Beck and Chris Jones.
Citizens Bank of the South was the title sponsor. The Foundation also recognized Diamond sponsors Bubba Golf Custom Clubs & Repair, GAF, Pinnacle Financial Partners/Synovus and Vallant Bank.
The tournament is held in memory of Joel David Russell, a Statesboro educator and civic leader who served as Ogeechee Technical College’s vice president of economic development. The event was established after his death in 2005. OTC lists 912-871-1721 as the contact number for its adult education program.
