A husband, wife and their four children were displaced after a fire heavily damaged their home in Long County’s Sand Hills/Beards Creek community Monday night, October 19.
Long County firefighters responded to the structure fire and arrived to find flames pouring from the roof. Crews worked to extinguish the blaze, but the home sustained heavy damage.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family of six.
The mother said she, her husband and their children made it out safely, but the family lost everything inside the home.

She expressed gratitude that her family survived and said her faith remains strong despite the loss.
“Everything else is just material things that can be replaced, but our lives are priceless,” she said.
The mother also thanked those offering comfort and support as the family faces the aftermath of the fire.
“Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. It truly means more than words can express.”
