Long County terminated interim Elections Supervisor Brook Schreiner on Monday, Oct. 19, after a reported workplace conduct incident involving her, a Board of Commissioners spokesperson said.
The spokesperson did not provide details about the incident.
Commissioners voted Oct. 1 to hire Schreiner for a temporary three-month term after Kershal Snell resigned immediately.
The termination came before that temporary term was scheduled to end.
The spokesperson said the county will continue evaluating its staffing procedures and supervisory safeguards to ensure future appointments meet the standards expected of public servants.
The statement did not identify any specific changes.
A special called meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at 468 McDonald St. The information provided does not state what the meeting will address.
