Traffic was being diverted from Dean Forest Road in Pooler Saturday night while fire and police crews responded to a trailer blaze. No injuries were reported.

The fire was in the 1700 block, where crews were dispatched at about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Pooler Fire Chief Wade Simmons said the fire started in a single-family trailer’s kitchenette and spread into the walls and roof.

Simmons said the lack of fire hydrants in the area led to a large response. A resident reported seeing as many as 16 fire trucks shortly before 9 p.m.
