Timothy Patrick Patterson, who had been on the Savannah Police Department’s top 10 most-wanted list for more than a year, is in custody in Chatham County after an arrest in New York, police say.

Patterson, 34, was transferred to the Chatham County Detention Center on Oct. 10 to face charges in Savannah. According to police, he has been booked on charges of rape, sodomy, aggravated assault and battery and is being held without bond. The charges are allegations; they do not establish guilt.

Police say they had sought Patterson since early 2025. Authorities said a warrant for him was issued March 15, 2025. They did not provide a date for his arrest in New York.
